Tingo Maria - Huaraz (01-07/09/2013) |
Tingo Maria - Huaraz (01-07/09/2013) |
We leave the selva, for our last trip-portion= back to the mountains.
On top of the climb (from Tingo Maria to Huanuco) is a tunnel, which is not very long, but the difference of both sides of the tunnel are big :
On one side it is still very selva-like, with lots of green & wooden houses,
and on the other side of the tunnel it is already completely mountain-like, more dry with adobe-houses...
Bye, bye, selva, with it's beautiful girls with long dark lose hair and mini-skirts (=for that reason Enzo would maybe prefer to live in selva-regions, he said).
Hello again, Andes, with their quechuas-indians (=a little bit less sexy)...
In the Huanuco-valley |
Climbing out of the Huanuco-valley |
Almost reached the top... |
Buying some food-supplies... |
Not sure what this is meant for : Probably serves as food, but with the Andean-Indians (and their many beliefs) you never know... |
Some indian-women-clichés : They age quiet quickly.
The pysical resemblance to Tibetans, reinforces again the 'doubts' about a migration from Asia (long time ago). |
Usually I don't like to 'steal' a picture that way, but just to show the intimacy of an indoor-household... |
Cutting the wheat.... by hand... |
We we're not able to make the 130kms between Huanuco & La Union in 2 days... So, we wanted to put up the tent in the little village of Acobamba, but as we had intertained the children of the village so well, we received a 'hostal'-room for free (=luckily, as the room was not very cheerfull... We will surely not sleep in these sheets, but take our sleepingbags instead...) |
In the direction of La Union = Enzo feels ill & says to have fever... We take a hostal in La Union & the next day I book a bus to Huaraz...
Of all the journey, the Cordillera Blanca was what Enzo was most looking forward to... Hopefully he gets well quickly... |
These pictures are taken... from the bus... The Cordillera Huayhash, -Huallanca, -Blanca,... We want to cycle 'in' & 'through' them... (not watching them from a distance from a bus)... Grrrr...! |
These pictures (also taken from the bus) seem like paintings... |
