Cusco - Abancay (05-08/08/2013) | 250 km parcourus |

Bien à vous toutes et tous !
Cusco - Abancay (05-08/08/2013) | 250 km cycled |
We stayed 3 days in the 'casa-de-ciclistas' of LaPaz, where we met several other cyclists.
All the French-speaking ones knew us (as CycloCosmos) from the internet, which was very nice.
We also met Kurt there, with who we cycled a while in Ecuador 3 years ago ! = Incredible to meet him again !
(see : http://www.cyclocosmos.com/article-riobamba---alausi-57967530.html and next pages).
After we stayed again 3 days in Cusco in the hostal 'La estrellita', which is also a meeting-place for cyclists.
Again we had good times talking and listening with them.
For some time the idea was germing of me going back to Belgium earlier (from Cusco), but finally I decided to end this journey (till Trujillo) anyway.
We leave Cusco, together with the belgian couple Cindy & Jerome (see : http://www.enviecyclette.com).

Instead of making the main-road, I wanted to make a little detour to the salinas of Maras, which gave some picturesque views. |

The Salinas : Impressive, beautiful & worth seeing. Not disappointed to have made this nice detour. |
|
To reach Abancay, we first have a little climb... |
|
...followed by a long descent... (=very hot with many mosquitos, back down)... |
|
...followed again by a loooong climb (of nearly 60kms) ! |
|
As I always carry the photocamaras, I always have to ask Enzo 'Can you take some pic of me?' I liked this colorful little tienda... |
